Trimble SX12 scanning total station training program for Royal Thai Air Force.

In November 2025, our Survey Instrument Division, in collaboration with our affiliated companies, successfully conducted a specialized training program on the Trimble SX12 High-Resolution 3D Scanning Total Station System for aircraft alignment and maintenance applications for the Royal Thai Air Force. The Trimble SX12 features advanced robotic control technology, allowing operators to remotely control the instrument with ease. Its automatic and highly accurate prism targeting capability ensures precise data acquisition of aircraft structural positioning, enabling correct leveling and alignment during maintenance operations. Beyond alignment, the system delivers high-precision surface scanning of aircraft structures, with real-time visualization displayed instantly on a touchscreen tablet controller at the job site. The captured data can be seamlessly processed into a true-to-scale 1:1 3D model with realistic dimensions and colors using Trimble Business Center (TBC) software. All data can be securely stored as a digital database, supporting future analysis, maintenance planning, and advanced engineering applications. This solution represents a significant step forward in enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in modern aircraft maintenance workflows.
