Trimble R12i GNSS 3-day training course for the Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy

Our Surveying Instruments Division delivered the Trimble R12i GNSS and provided a 3-day training course to the Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy. The aim of using GNSS is to collect topographic survey data of the coast and stake it out with accuracy according to international standards of hydrographic surveying.
On the first day, our product specialist started the training course with a theoretical session on the basis and fundamentals of GNSS surveying, parts of Trimble R12i, how to choose a base station location, avoid satellite signal obstacles (multipath), work planning, and baseline network design before doing the field training.

The field training was on the second day, and we trained both static and RTK methods. Collecting topographic surveying data has never been this easy before. With the IMU tilt sensor, surveyors can tilt the pole at each point, especially in some challenging areas such as the corner of the building, under the tree, etc.
On the last day of training, our product specialist showed how to export the field data to check and process in the Trimble Business Center software. The program can process baselines, generate reports, and export the show on Google Earth precisely.
